A series of crystal glass objects inspired by vibrant tropical nature
The series ‘Totems’ represents the possibilities of crystal glass-making, a traditional craft. The first edition of ‘Totems’ was crystal clear and diamond-cut, exploring the classic approach to glass-making of Gus Crystal Factory, one of the oldest glass manufacturers in Russia.
The main attraction of the series — various textures, hidden in the body of the object: from delicate bubbles to a frosty effect
These colorful sculptures were created in Brazil and premiered at SP-Arte art & design fair in São Paulo. They demonstrate the array of rare crystal-decorating techniques, which is taking its starting point from Murano craftsmen in Venice — and this is the very case when the organic nature of the material itself suggested the design of the sculptures, created intuitively right in the factory.
