Temporary Architecture: What Happens With Temporary Structures After Use? Discussion of Strelka Institute

Discussion supports the launch of the 3rd International Concept Competition for Garage Screen Summer Cinema organized by Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and Strelka Bureau.

Bureau’s founder Olga Treivas took part in the discussion with the founder of ‘Moscow Through The Eyes Of An Engineer’ Airat Bagautdinov, curator of ‘Archstoyaniye’ fest Anton Kochurkin, co-founder and partner of Novoye Architecture Bureau Sergey Nebotov and Strelka Mag chief editor Sonya Elterman.

Object of a temporary architecture is a short-lived phenomenon. During its life it goes beyond the limits of its existence: temporary structures are never boring, so they stay in memory for a long time. But what happens with architecture after its toll? How does it meaning transform over time and where do all the building materials go?

Discussion was held on June, 28, in 2021, the record is available via Strelka’s Youtube Channel.
